This weekend I went to New York to see one of my best friends named Ryan. He lives in Manhattan, but had to work a lot while I was there and allowed me to roam the around the city by myself a little. The past few times I've been to New York, it was for business/music performances. I've never been able to shop or see the sights ,so this trip was amazing because I was allowed to do it for once. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't about to hop on a tour bus or anything, but I did go to Soho, Brooklyn, and random parts of Manhattan to shop my ass off.I did make 2 rather over the top purchases...a pair of Chanel glasses and a leather jacket that looks like something straight out of Top Gun.
(Ryan and I found a wall to entertain ourselves with)

Friday and Saturday night we hit up a lot of the gay bars. Most were pretty tame(underwear night +cheap drinks), however, there was one that might as well have been a gay stripclub. The boys clothes went missing and no one seemed to know where they or the air freshner was. I will say one highlight of my adventures through gay new york was getting to see Drag Beyonce. That girl had some serious moves, but could seriously benefit from a much stronger cup...things were um,poking out.

Saturday afternoon, I went to go see "Long Story Short" featuring Colin Quinn and directed by Jerry Seinfeld. This show was brilliant. It was a brief history of the world in 75 minutes. My clock on my blackberry failed to update when I arrived in NY, so I was like 10 minutes late for the show, but what I got to see made it all worthwhile. I also walked out with a poster signed by both the star and the director :D!
While in the city,I also got to hang out with my good friend Jesse. I met Jesse through my friend Courtney about 3 years ago while they were both attending Northwestern University. I hadn't seem him in a little over a year and it was nice to shoot the shit(not literally) with a familiar face. This guy reminds me of Jude Law(if Jude Law were way better looking and not a cheater). We walked around a bit and took in the ridiculous sights at some random flea market in Union Square. I was highly tempted to buy this fugly floor length fur coat, but Jesse wanted it instead so I let him have it (kidding).
(Jesse showing me how Wilson Pickett had mad style)

(Some of the awesome outfits for sale)

I ended my weekend in Queens at some random bar off 30th run by a bunch of fiery Irish dudes. I'm not one to stereotype, but the Irish are know for their drinking and tempers. Well, on this night they didn't fail to disappoint. It took me about 20 minutes to get my completed drink order because some guy at the bar kept fighting with the bartender about a fight they had gotten into at the bar a day before (what?!). The fight ended about 5 times before the guy was too drunk to argue anymore. At that point he decided to make me a coat rack and use my friend Amara as a chair. God bless the Irish.
Now I'm back in the work frenzy, and can't wait to plan my next NYC visit. I'm thinking sometime in Spring when the weather is more so in my favor.
